The client requested Indian clothing and provided rl photo refs, but I have no sense of fashion and I never looked into Indian clothing before so I was confused for a while before I figured out how they work :[ I was going to add more patterns to the girl's clothing but my hands started hurting after drawing the borders LOL ;; clothing that rely heavily on patterns is so hard to do
She also requested a more realistic style so I tried out colouring without lines and all on one layer. It's a much better result than my last attempt to say the least (the last one was horrific and I never finished it) but something about my use of colours and general artistic knowledge made the colours look clayish :[ I'll do better next time
The detail on her sari is just simply stunning. I really love looking at the parts of the image where things look as if they are fading out into the background. Everything is so soft and pretty to look at.
I actually like what you call the 'clay' look. o.o It's absolutely stunning! The pattern's really good, and I love everything about the picture. ;___; ~!
